US Attorney McGregor Scott and US Attorney Karin Immergut meet with Bob Wise and discuss the meth problem in our region. This was the birth of the Southern Oregon Meth Project. A plan was soon developed to begin an initiative to battle the epidemic.


April 20, 2006:

JELD-WEN and Medford Fabrication are the first partners to join with NBC 5 and NBC 2 for the formation of the Southern Oregon Meth Project.

August 30, 2006:

An announcement was made that the Jackson County Meth Task Force obtained $100,000 in grants given through the Walker Foundation, $25,000 to help fund the Southern Oregon Meth Project.

September 1, 2006:

The Southern Oregon Meth Project is launched on NBC 5 and NBC 2 with extensive placement on television, cable, and radio throughout Southern Oregon. The partners at launch are JELD-WEN, Medford Fabrication, Asante Health System, United Way of Jackson County, Charter Communications, ODS Health Plans, and Providence Medical Center.

October 9, 2006:

Merle West Medical Center agrees to partner in the effort.


November 16, 2006:

The Medford City Council meeting provided a Proclamation from Mayor Gary Wheeler, regarding National Methamphetamine Awareness Day.


December 18, 2006:

Medford Mayor Gary Wheeler has invited Bow Wise, founder of the Southern Oregon Meth Project, to appear on his monthly program with Rogue Valley Television Public Access at 6pm. Joining him on the program was Christina Anderson, DeeAnne Everson from United Way and Rita Sullivan from On-Track.


February, 2007:
